However, I was in the same position until I spent a couple of years in Italy and realized the Vatican doctrine is in serious error. Returning the the US has shown me even more how oblivious evangelicals are to the doctrines of the Roman Church and how sympathetic many evangelical churches are to the 'Gospel according to Rome'. Ecumenism is on the rise and many "church-goers" aren't even aware it is going on the their church.
